Bridgewater House, Worcester

Built in 1962, this Portland stone building had an early form of Crittall curtain walling with ceramic tiles. Although interesting, these elements were not fit to enclose 75 new apartments. Building Design Group were asked to create a modern set of residential accommodation within this high quality, modernist classic. New curtain walling and windows, a repair and extensive refurbishment of the stone façade helped to give a new lease of life to this great asset in leafy Worcester.

Project value: £6.5 million
